What is the Degrassi RPG?

The Degrassi RPG is also known as a Role Playing Game (RPG). In this game you are to choose a CAST MEMBER from the TV Show Degrassi and "become them." You will act as how you think that cast member would act, talk as how they would talk, and do the things they would do. All this will take place by means of AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Facebook, and/or Twitter. When you are on your cast member's Screen Name/Facebook/Twitter you are to become them.
There are two ways of talking when in an RPG. In Character (IC) and Out Of Character (OOC). When talking OOC you are to use brackets [[ ]] so that other players know that you're talking as yourself and not as your cast member.

Getting Started.

This blog will take you step by step into what you must do to become a part of The Degrassi RPG.


Step 1.
First you must choose from the list of available cast members and decide who you would like to play.

Step 2.
Next you will need to fill out a Cast Member application and leave it as a comment on that post. Again, that is the only post you are able to leave a comment on.


Step 3.
Once you have decided who you would like to play and are approved by The Degrassi RPG moderator, you can create a Facebook for your cast member. Make sure to follow all of the rules provided in the Rules blog.

Step 4.
After your Facebook is created you must leave a comment (ex. I'm a new roleplayer for The Degrassi RPG!) on The Degrassi RPG Facebook Fan Page so that the rest of the role players know to add you.

Step 5.
Have fun and create an awesome story line for you cast member!

The Rules.

1) You must be ACTIVE. If you are going to be inactive you will get removed from the game

2) You are NOT playing the character they play on the show, but the CAST MEMBER.
       WRONG: I want to play Emma Nelson.
       RIGHT: I want to play Miriam McDonald.

3) AOL screen names for your cast member must include his/her name in it somewhere so we can identify you

4) Scenarios must be REALISTIC (Ex. no alien abductions...)

5) Pregnancies must last at least FOUR weeks.

6) Keep the drama in the game, don't let it affect your real life.
7) All approved cast members will have an APPROVED comment on them on The Degrassi RPG fan page.

8) DO NOT add anyone who was not approved by the Degrassi RPG Moderator to your Facebook Page.

9) Your cast member's Facebook MUST be private.

10) Put all contact information for your cast member (AOL IM/Twitter/etc.) on your Facebook page.

11) If you think you shouldn't do it, then don't do it.

The Basics.

Here you will find the most basic things you will need to have in order to be apart of The Degrassi RPG.

- A Facebook page for your player
- An AOL Instant Messenger Screen name for your player
- A Twitter account (optional)
- The ability to follow rules accordingly.


**NOTE: The reason you must have AIM is in order to have group gatherings between cast members you must be in an AIM group chat**
